P.33, any regulations made under that Act and any Act of that province referred to in that Act relating to proceedings in respect of offences created by a law of that province; and</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981650" lims:id="981650"><Label>(b)</Label><Text>the rules of court made under the <XRefExternal reference-type="act">Courts of Justice Act</XRefExternal> of Ontario, R.S.O. 1990, c. C.43.</Text></Paragraph></Subsection><Subsection lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981651" lims:id="981651"><Label>(2)</Label><Text>The enactments referred to in subsection (1) apply with such modifications as the circumstances require and, without limiting the generality of the foregoing, for the purposes of that subsection, in those enactments</Text><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981652" lims:id="981652"><Label>(a)</Label><Text>a reference to “offence” shall be read as a reference to “contravention”;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981653" lims:id="981653"><Label>(b)</Label><Text>a reference to “prosecutor” shall be read to include the Attorney General;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981654" lims:id="981654"><Label>(c)</Label><Text>a reference to “provincial offences officer” shall be read as a reference to “enforcement authority”;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981655" lims:id="981655"><Label>(d)</Label><Text>a reference to “set fine” shall be read as a reference to the amount of the fine established by the Governor in Council pursuant to paragraph 8(1)(c) of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act" link="C-38.7">Contraventions Act</XRefExternal>;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981656" lims:id="981656"><Label>(e)</Label><Text>a reference to “offence notice” or “parking infraction notice”, where the offence notice or parking infraction notice is served on the defendant, shall be read as a reference to “ticket”; and</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981657" lims:id="981657"><Label>(f)</Label><Text>a reference to “certificate of offence” or “certificate of parking infraction”, where the certificate of offence or certificate of parking infraction is filed with the court, shall be read as a reference to “ticket”.</Text></Paragraph></Subsection><Subsection lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981658" lims:id="981658"><Label>(3)</Label><Text>For the purposes of subsection (1), in Part II of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act">Provincial Offences Act</XRefExternal> of Ontario, in addition to the modifications referred to in subsection (2),</Text><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981659" lims:id="981659"><Label>(a)</Label><Text>a reference to “by-law” or “by-law of a municipality” shall, except in subsections 17(5) and 18.6(1), be read as a reference to “enactment”;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981660" lims:id="981660"><Label>(b)</Label><Text>a reference to “infraction” or “parking infraction” shall be read as a reference to a contravention in respect of any unlawful parking, standing or stopping of a vehicle that is created by an enactment;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981661" lims:id="981661"><Label>(c)</Label><Text>a reference to “clerk of a municipality” or “clerk of the municipality” shall be read as a reference to the clerk of a municipality with which the Minister has entered into an agreement pursuant to subsections 65.2(2) and 65.3(1) of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act" link="C-38.7">Contraventions Act</XRefExternal>; and</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981662" lims:id="981662"><Label>(d)</Label><Text>a reference to “person designated by the regulations” shall, except in subsection 18.6(4), be read as a reference to a person designated by regulations made under Part II of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act">Provincial Offences Act</XRefExternal> of Ontario in respect of a municipality with which the Minister has entered into an agreement pursuant to subsections 65.2(2) and 65.3(1) of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act" link="C-38.7">Contraventions Act</XRefExternal>.</Text></Paragraph></Subsection></Section><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:lastAmendedDate="2024-05-31" lims:fid="981663" lims:id="981663"><Label>2</Label><Subsection lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981664" lims:id="981664"><Label>(1)</Label><Text>Subsections 12(1), 17(5) and 18.6(5) of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act">Provincial Offences Act</XRefExternal> of Ontario do not apply in respect of the prosecution of a contravention.</Text></Subsection><Subsection lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981665" lims:id="981665"><Label>(2)</Label><Text>For the purposes of Part II of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act">Provincial Offences Act</XRefExternal> of Ontario, contraventions related to the unlawful parking, standing or stopping of a vehicle, regardless of where in Ontario they were committed, are deemed to have been committed in a municipality designated by regulations made under that Part.</Text></Subsection><Subsection lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981666" lims:id="981666"><Label>(3)</Label><Text>For the purposes of any agreement entered into pursuant to subsections 65.2(2) and 65.3(1) of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act" link="C-38.7">Contraventions Act</XRefExternal>, section 18.6 of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act">Provincial Offences Act</XRefExternal> of Ontario and the regulations made under Part II of that Act shall be read as authorizing a municipality that has entered into such an agreement to collect fines in respect of contraventions related to the unlawful parking, standing or stopping of a vehicle.</Text></Subsection></Section><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:lastAmendedDate="2024-05-31" lims:fid="981667" lims:id="981667"><Label>3</Label><Text>Any administrative service or communication arising from the application of section 5.1, 7 or 17.1 of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act">Provincial Offences Act</XRefExternal> of Ontario shall be provided in the same manner as if the service or communication were provided from an office or facility of a federal institution under section 22 of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act" link="O-3.01">Official Languages Act</XRefExternal> where there is significant demand under that section for such a service or communication in both official languages.</Text></Section><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2024-05-31" lims:enacted-date="2024-05-31" lims:lastAmendedDate="2024-05-31" lims:fid="981668" lims:id="1457382"><Label>4</Label><Text>The enactments made applicable by this Part shall be read as if sections 530 to 530.1 of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act" link="C-46">Criminal Code</XRefExternal>, with any modifications that the circumstances require, were contained in those enactments.</Text></Section><Heading lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981669" lims:id="981669" level="1"><Label>PART II</Label><TitleText>Province of Nova Scotia</TitleText></Heading><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:lastAmendedDate="2024-05-31" lims:fid="981670" lims:id="981670"><Label>1</Label><Subsection lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981671" lims:id="981671"><Label>(1)</Label><Text>Subject to subsection (2), the following enactments apply in respect of contraventions alleged to have been committed, on or after April 1, 1997, in Nova Scotia or within the territorial jurisdiction of the courts of Nova Scotia:</Text><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981672" lims:id="981672"><Label>(a)</Label><Text>the <XRefExternal reference-type="act">Alternative Penalty Act</XRefExternal> of Nova Scotia, S.N.S. 1989, c. 2, any regulations made under that Act and any Act of that province referred to in that Act relating to proceedings in respect of offences created by a law of that province;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981673" lims:id="981673"><Label>(b)</Label><Text>the <XRefExternal reference-type="act">Summary Proceedings Act</XRefExternal> of Nova Scotia, R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 450, any regulations made under that Act and any Act of that province referred to in that Act relating to proceedings in respect of offences created by a law of that province;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981674" lims:id="981674"><Label>(c)</Label><Text>the <XRefExternal reference-type="act">Victims’ Rights and Services Act</XRefExternal> of Nova Scotia, S.N.S. 1989, c. 14, any regulations made under that Act and any Act of that province referred to in that Act relating to proceedings in respect of offences created by a law of that province; and</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981675" lims:id="981675"><Label>(d)</Label><Text>the <XRefExternal reference-type="act">Youth Justice Act</XRefExternal> of Nova Scotia, S.N.S. 2001, c. 38, any regulations made under that Act and any Act of that province referred to in that Act relating to proceedings in respect of offences created by a law of that province.</Text></Paragraph></Subsection><Subsection lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981676" lims:id="981676"><Label>(2)</Label><Text>The enactments referred to in subsection (1) apply with such modifications as the circumstances require and, without limiting the generality of the foregoing, for the purposes of that subsection, in those enactments</Text><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981677" lims:id="981677"><Label>(a)</Label><Text>a reference to “Legislature” shall be read as a reference to “Parliament”;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981678" lims:id="981678"><Label>(b)</Label><Text>a reference to “offence” shall be read as a reference to “contravention”;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981679" lims:id="981679"><Label>(c)</Label><Text>a reference to “Act” or to “regulation” shall be read as a reference to “enactment”; and</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981680" lims:id="981680"><Label>(d)</Label><Text>a reference to “penalty” shall be read to include the fine established by the Governor in Council pursuant to paragraph 8(1)(c) of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act" link="C-38.7">Contraventions Act</XRefExternal>.</Text></Paragraph></Subsection></Section><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:lastAmendedDate="2024-05-31" lims:fid="981681" lims:id="981681"><Label>2</Label><Subsection lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981682" lims:id="981682"><Label>(1)</Label><Text>Subsections 2B(1A) to (1D) and (1H) to (1K), sections 4, 4B and 4C, subsection 8(7) and sections 11, 12 and 18 of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act">Summary Proceedings Act</XRefExternal> of Nova Scotia do not apply in respect of the prosecution of a contravention.</Text></Subsection><Subsection lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981683" lims:id="981683"><Label>(2)</Label><Text>For the purposes of subsection 8(6) of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act">Summary Proceedings Act</XRefExternal> of Nova Scotia, the minimum penalty is the fine established by the Governor in Council under paragraph 8(1)(c) of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act" link="C-38.7">Contraventions Act</XRefExternal>.</Text></Subsection></Section><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2024-05-31" lims:enacted-date="2024-05-31" lims:lastAmendedDate="2024-05-31" lims:fid="981684" lims:id="1457395"><Label>3</Label><Text>The enactments made applicable by this Part shall be read as if sections 530 to 530.1 of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act" link="C-46">Criminal Code</XRefExternal>, with such modifications as the circumstances require, were contained in those enactments.</Text></Section><Heading lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981685" lims:id="981685" level="1"><Label>PART III</Label><TitleText>Province of New Brunswick</TitleText></Heading><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:lastAmendedDate="2024-05-31" lims:fid="981686" lims:id="981686"><Label>1</Label><Subsection lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981687" lims:id="981687"><Label>(1)</Label><Text>Subject to subsection (2), the following enactments apply in respect of contraventions alleged to have been committed, on or after June 1, 1997, in New Brunswick or within the territorial jurisdiction of the courts of New Brunswick:</Text><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2020-04-11" lims:enacted-date="2020-04-11" lims:fid="981688" lims:id="1244312"><Label>(a)</Label><Text>the <XRefExternal reference-type="other">Provincial Offences Procedure Act</XRefExternal> of New Brunswick, S.N.B. 1987, c. P-22.1, any regulations made under that Act and any Act of that province referred to in that Act relating to proceedings in respect of offences created by a law of that province;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2020-04-11" lims:enacted-date="2020-04-11" lims:fid="981689" lims:id="1244313"><Label>(b)</Label><Text>the <XRefExternal reference-type="other">Provincial Offences Procedure for Young Persons Act</XRefExternal> of New Brunswick, S.N.B. 1987, c. P-22.2, any regulations made under that Act and any Act of that province referred to in that Act relating to proceedings in respect of offences created by a law of that province; and</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2020-04-11" lims:enacted-date="2020-04-11" lims:fid="981690" lims:id="1244314"><Label>(c)</Label><Text>the <XRefExternal reference-type="other">Victims Services Act</XRefExternal> of New Brunswick, R.S.N.B. 2016, c. 113, any regulations made under that Act and any Act of that province referred to in that Act relating to proceedings in respect of offences created by a law of that province.</Text></Paragraph></Subsection><Subsection lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981691" lims:id="981691"><Label>(2)</Label><Text>The enactments referred to in subsection (1) apply with such modifications as the circumstances require and, without limiting the generality of the foregoing, for the purposes of that subsection, in those enactments</Text><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981692" lims:id="981692"><Label>(a)</Label><Text>a reference to “categorized offence” or “offence” shall be read as a reference to “contravention”;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981693" lims:id="981693"><Label>(b)</Label><Text>a reference to “prosecutor” shall be read to include the Attorney General;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981694" lims:id="981694"><Label>(c)</Label><Text>a reference to “authorized person” shall be read as a reference to “enforcement authority”;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981695" lims:id="981695"><Label>(d)</Label><Text>a reference in the French version to “billet de contravention” shall be read as a reference to “procès-verbal”; and</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981696" lims:id="981696"><Label>(e)</Label><Text>a reference to “minimum fine” shall be read as a reference to the fine established by the Governor in Council pursuant to paragraph 8(1)(c) of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act" link="C-38.7">Contraventions Act</XRefExternal>.</Text></Paragraph></Subsection></Section><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:lastAmendedDate="2024-05-31" lims:fid="981697" lims:id="981697"><Label>2</Label><Text>Subparagraph 51(b)(ii), sections 56 to 62, 70 and 71 of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act">Provincial Offences Procedure Act</XRefExternal> of New Brunswick do not apply in respect of the prosecution of a contravention.</Text></Section><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:lastAmendedDate="2024-05-31" lims:fid="981698" lims:id="981698"><Label>2.1</Label><Subsection lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981699" lims:id="981699"><Label>(1)</Label><Text>In this section, <DefinedTermEn>parking contravention</DefinedTermEn> means a contravention in respect of any unlawful parking, standing or stopping of a vehicle that is created by an enactment.</Text></Subsection><Subsection lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981700" lims:id="981700"><Label>(2)</Label><Text>Notwithstanding subsection 11(1) of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act">Provincial Offences Procedure Act</XRefExternal> of New Brunswick, a ticket in respect of a parking contravention may also be served by mail in accordance with section 101 of that Act.</Text></Subsection><Subsection lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981701" lims:id="981701"><Label>(3)</Label><Text>Subsection 101(3) of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act">Provincial Offences Procedure Act</XRefExternal> of New Brunswick does not apply to a ticket in respect of a parking contravention that is served by mail.</Text></Subsection><Subsection lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981702" lims:id="981702"><Label>(4)</Label><Text>If a ticket in respect of a parking contravention is served by mail, that service may be proved in accordance with subsection 101(10) of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act">Provincial Offences Procedure Act</XRefExternal> of New Brunswick.</Text></Subsection></Section><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:lastAmendedDate="2024-05-31" lims:fid="981703" lims:id="981703"><Label>3</Label><Text>For the purpose of subparagraph 51(b)(i) of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act">Provincial Offences Procedure Act</XRefExternal> of New Brunswick, the fine is the fine established by the Governor in Council pursuant to paragraph 8(1)(c) of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act" link="C-38.7">Contraventions Act</XRefExternal>.</Text></Section><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2024-05-31" lims:enacted-date="2024-05-31" lims:lastAmendedDate="2024-05-31" lims:fid="1457383" lims:id="1457383"><Label>4</Label><Text>The enactments made applicable by this Part shall be read as if sections 530 to 530.1 of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act" link="C-46">Criminal Code</XRefExternal>, with any modifications that the circumstances require, were contained in those enactments.</Text></Section><Heading lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981704" lims:id="981704" level="1"><Label>PART IV</Label><TitleText>Province of Manitoba</TitleText></Heading><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:lastAmendedDate="2024-05-31" lims:fid="981705" lims:id="981705"><Label>1</Label><Subsection lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981706" lims:id="981706"><Label>(1)</Label><Text>Subject to subsection (2), the following enactments apply in respect of contraventions alleged to have been committed in Manitoba or within the territorial jurisdiction of the courts of Manitoba:</Text><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2024-05-31" lims:enacted-date="2024-05-31" lims:fid="981707" lims:id="1457384"><Label>(a)</Label><Text>for contraventions committed on or after the day on which <XRefExternal reference-level="provincial" reference-type="act">The Provincial Offences Act</XRefExternal> of Manitoba, C.C.S.M. c. P160, comes into force, that Act and any regulations made under that Act and any Act of that province referred to in that Act relating to proceedings in respect of offences created by a law of that province; and</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981708" lims:id="981708"><Label>(b)</Label><Text>for contraventions committed on or after May 1, 1997, <XRefExternal reference-type="act">The Victims’ Bill of Rights</XRefExternal> of Manitoba, C.C.S.M. c. V55, any regulations made under that Act and any Act of that province referred to in that Act relating to proceedings in respect of offences created by a law of that province.</Text></Paragraph></Subsection><Subsection lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981709" lims:id="981709"><Label>(2)</Label><Text>The enactments referred to in subsection (1) apply with such modifications as the circumstances require and, without limiting the generality of the foregoing, for the purposes of that subsection, in those enactments</Text><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981710" lims:id="981710"><Label>(a)</Label><Text>a reference to “fine” shall be read as a reference to the fine established by the Governor in Council pursuant to paragraph 8(1)(c) of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act" link="C-38.7">Contraventions Act</XRefExternal>;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981711" lims:id="981711"><Label>(b)</Label><Text>a reference to “offence” shall be read as a reference to “contravention”;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981712" lims:id="981712"><Label>(c)</Label><Text><Repealed>[Repealed, SOR/2017-136, s. 1]</Repealed></Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981713" lims:id="981713"><Label>(d)</Label><Text>a reference to “enforcement officer” shall be read as a reference to “enforcement authority”.</Text></Paragraph></Subsection></Section><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:lastAmendedDate="2024-05-31" lims:fid="981714" lims:id="981714"><Label>2</Label><Text>Sections 3 and 4 of <XRefExternal reference-type="act">The Provincial Offences Act</XRefExternal> of Manitoba do not apply in respect of the prosecution of a contravention.</Text></Section><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2024-05-31" lims:enacted-date="2024-05-31" lims:lastAmendedDate="2024-05-31" lims:fid="981715" lims:id="1457394"><Label>3</Label><Text>The enactments made applicable by this Part shall be read as if sections 530 to 530.1 of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act" link="C-46">Criminal Code</XRefExternal>, with such modifications as the circumstances require, were contained in those enactments.</Text></Section><Heading lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981716" lims:id="981716" level="1"><Label>PART V</Label><TitleText>Province of Prince Edward Island</TitleText></Heading><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:lastAmendedDate="2024-05-31" lims:fid="981717" lims:id="981717"><Label>1</Label><Subsection lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981718" lims:id="981718"><Label>(1)</Label><Text>Subject to subsection (2), the following enactments apply in respect of contraventions alleged to have been committed, on or after June 1, 1997, in Prince Edward Island or within the territorial jurisdiction of the courts of Prince Edward Island:</Text><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981719" lims:id="981719"><Label>(a)</Label><Text>the <XRefExternal reference-type="act">Summary Proceedings Act</XRefExternal> of Prince Edward Island, R.S.P.E.I. 1988, c. S-9, any regulations made under that Act and any Act of that province referred to in that Act relating to proceedings in respect of offences created by a law of that province;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2024-05-31" lims:enacted-date="2024-05-31" lims:fid="981720" lims:id="1457385"><Label>(b)</Label><Text>the <XRefExternal reference-level="provincial" reference-type="act">Victims of Crime Act</XRefExternal> of Prince Edward Island, R.S.P.E.I. 1988, c. V-3.1, and any regulations made under that Act;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2024-05-31" lims:enacted-date="2024-05-31" lims:fid="981721" lims:id="1457389"><Label>(c)</Label><Text>the <XRefExternal reference-level="provincial" reference-type="act">French Language Services Act</XRefExternal> of Prince Edward Island, R.S.P.E.I. 1988, c. F-15.2, and any regulations made under that Act; and</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2024-05-31" lims:enacted-date="2024-05-31" lims:fid="1457388" lims:id="1457388"><Label>(d)</Label><Text>the <XRefExternal reference-level="provincial" reference-type="act">Youth Justice Act</XRefExternal> of Prince Edward Island, R.S.P.E.I. 1988, c. Y-3, any regulations made under that Act and any Act of that province referred to in that Act relating to proceedings in respect of offences created by a law of that province.</Text></Paragraph></Subsection><Subsection lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981722" lims:id="981722"><Label>(2)</Label><Text>The enactments referred to in subsection (1) apply with such modifications as the circumstances require and, without limiting the generality of the foregoing, for the purposes of that subsection, in those enactments</Text><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981723" lims:id="981723"><Label>(a)</Label><Text>a reference to “enactment” shall be read to include an enactment (as defined in section 2 of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act" link="C-38.7">Contraventions Act</XRefExternal>);</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981724" lims:id="981724"><Label>(b)</Label><Text>a reference to “offence” shall be read as a reference to “contravention”;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981725" lims:id="981725"><Label>(c)</Label><Text>a reference to “officer” shall be read as a reference to “enforcement authority”; and</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981726" lims:id="981726"><Label>(d)</Label><Text>a reference to “penalty” or “minimum penalty authorized by law” shall be read as a reference to the fine established by the Governor in Council pursuant to paragraph 8(1)(c) of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act" link="C-38.7">Contraventions Act</XRefExternal>.</Text></Paragraph></Subsection></Section><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:lastAmendedDate="2024-05-31" lims:fid="981727" lims:id="981727"><Label>2</Label><Text>Sections 4, 5 and 8 of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act">Summary Proceedings Act</XRefExternal> of Prince Edward Island do not apply in respect of the prosecution of a contravention.</Text></Section><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2024-05-31" lims:enacted-date="2024-05-31" lims:lastAmendedDate="2024-05-31" lims:fid="981728" lims:id="1457393"><Label>3</Label><Text>The enactments made applicable by this Part shall be read as if sections 530 to 530.1 of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act" link="C-46">Criminal Code</XRefExternal>, with such modifications as the circumstances require, were contained in those enactments.</Text></Section><Heading lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981729" lims:id="981729" level="1"><Label>PART VI</Label><TitleText>Province of Newfoundland and Labrador</TitleText></Heading><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:lastAmendedDate="2024-05-31" lims:fid="981730" lims:id="981730"><Label>1</Label><Subsection lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981731" lims:id="981731"><Label>(1)</Label><Text>Subject to subsection (2), the following enactments apply in respect of contraventions alleged to have been committed, on or after January 1, 2018, in Newfoundland and Labrador or within the territorial jurisdiction of the courts of Newfoundland and Labrador:</Text><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981732" lims:id="981732"><Label>(a)</Label><Text>the <XRefExternal reference-type="act">Provincial Offences Act</XRefExternal> of Newfoundland and Labrador, S.N.L. 1995, c. P-31.1, any regulations made under that Act and any Act of that province referred to in that Act relating to proceedings in respect of offences created by a law of that province;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981733" lims:id="981733"><Label>(b)</Label><Text>the <XRefExternal reference-type="act">Young Persons Offences Act</XRefExternal> of Newfoundland and Labrador, R.S.N.L. 1990, c. Y-1, any regulations made under that Act and any Act of that province referred to in that Act relating to proceedings in respect of offences created by a law of that province; and</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981734" lims:id="981734"><Label>(c)</Label><Text>the <XRefExternal reference-type="act">Victims of Crime Services Act</XRefExternal> of Newfoundland and Labrador, R.S.N.L. 1990, c. V-5, any regulations made under that Act and any Act of that province referred to in that Act relating to proceedings in respect of offences created by a law of that province.</Text></Paragraph></Subsection><Subsection lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981735" lims:id="981735"><Label>(2)</Label><Text>The enactments referred to in subsection (1) apply with such modifications as the circumstances require and, without limiting the generality of the foregoing, for the purposes of that subsection, in those enactments</Text><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981736" lims:id="981736"><Label>(a)</Label><Text>a reference to “Legislature” shall be read as a reference to “Parliament”;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981737" lims:id="981737"><Label>(b)</Label><Text>a reference to “enactment” shall be read to include an <DefinitionRef>enactment</DefinitionRef>, as defined in section 2 of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act" link="C-38.7">Contraventions Act</XRefExternal>;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981738" lims:id="981738"><Label>(c)</Label><Text>a reference to “offence” shall be read as a reference to “contravention”;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981739" lims:id="981739"><Label>(d)</Label><Text>a reference to “peace officer”, “complainant” or “any other person having responsibility for the enforcement of a provision of an enactment” shall be read as a reference to “enforcement authority”; and</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981740" lims:id="981740"><Label>(e)</Label><Text>a reference to “prescribed fine” shall be read as a reference to the fine established by the Governor in Council under paragraph 8(1)(c) of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act" link="C-38.7">Contraventions Act</XRefExternal>.</Text></Paragraph></Subsection></Section><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:lastAmendedDate="2024-05-31" lims:fid="981741" lims:id="981741"><Label>2</Label><Text>Section 5, subsection 32.4(2) and section 40 of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act">Provincial Offences Act</XRefExternal> of Newfoundland and Labrador do not apply in respect of the prosecution of a contravention.</Text></Section><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:lastAmendedDate="2024-05-31" lims:fid="981742" lims:id="981742"><Label>3</Label><Text>Contraventions are deemed to be offences for which a complaint may be laid and a summons issued by means of a ticket under the <XRefExternal reference-type="act">Provincial Offences Act</XRefExternal> of Newfoundland and Labrador.</Text></Section><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2024-05-31" lims:enacted-date="2024-05-31" lims:lastAmendedDate="2024-05-31" lims:fid="981743" lims:id="1457396"><Label>4</Label><Text>The enactments made applicable by this Part shall be read as if sections 530 to 530.1 of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act" link="C-46">Criminal Code</XRefExternal>, with any modifications that the circumstances require, were contained in those enactments.</Text></Section><Heading lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981744" lims:id="981744" level="1"><Label>PART VII</Label><TitleText>Province of Quebec</TitleText></Heading><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:lastAmendedDate="2024-05-31" lims:fid="981745" lims:id="981745"><Label>1</Label><Subsection lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981746" lims:id="981746"><Label>(1)</Label><Text>Subject to subsection (2), the <XRefExternal reference-type="act">Code of Penal Procedure</XRefExternal> of Quebec, R.S.Q., c. C-25.1, any regulations made under that Act and any Act of that province referred to in that Act relating to proceedings in respect of offences created by a law of that province apply in respect of contraventions alleged to have been committed, on or after May 1, 1999, in Quebec or within the territorial jurisdiction of the courts of Quebec.</Text></Subsection><Subsection lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981747" lims:id="981747"><Label>(2)</Label><Text>The enactments referred to in subsection (1) apply with such modifications as the circumstances require and, without limiting the generality of the foregoing, for the purposes of that subsection, in those enactments,</Text><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981748" lims:id="981748"><Label>(a)</Label><Text>a reference to “offence” shall be read as a reference to “contravention”;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981749" lims:id="981749"><Label>(b)</Label><Text>a reference to “law” shall be read as a reference to “enactment”;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981750" lims:id="981750"><Label>(c)</Label><Text>for the purpose of paragraph 1 of article 9 of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act">Code of Penal Procedure</XRefExternal> of Quebec, a reference to “Attorney General” shall be read to include the Attorney General of Canada and any counsel representing the Attorney General of Canada for the purposes of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act" link="C-38.7">Contraventions Act</XRefExternal>;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981751" lims:id="981751"><Label>(d)</Label><Text>a reference to “statement of offence” shall be read as a reference to “ticket”;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981752" lims:id="981752"><Label>(e)</Label><Text>a reference to “minimum fine” or “minimum sentence” in the <XRefExternal reference-type="act">Code of Penal Procedure</XRefExternal> of Quebec shall be read as a reference to the fine established by the Governor in Council under paragraph 8(1)(c) of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act" link="C-38.7">Contraventions Act</XRefExternal>;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2024-05-31" lims:enacted-date="2024-05-31" lims:fid="981753" lims:id="1457386"><Label>(f)</Label><Text>a reference to “minimum fine” or “minimum sentence” in the <XRefExternal reference-level="provincial" reference-type="regulation">Regulation respecting the form of statements of offence</XRefExternal>, c. C-25.1, r. 1, shall be read as a reference to the fine established by the Governor in Council under paragraph 8(1)(c) of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act" link="C-38.7">Contraventions Act</XRefExternal>; and</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981754" lims:id="981754"><Label>(g)</Label><Text>the reference to “minimum statutory sentence” in subparagraph 8 of the first paragraph of article 146 of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act">Code of Penal Procedure</XRefExternal> of Quebec shall be read as a reference to “sentence”.</Text></Paragraph></Subsection></Section><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:lastAmendedDate="2024-05-31" lims:fid="981755" lims:id="981755"><Label>2</Label><Text>Sections 166.1, 232, 234, 235, 238 to 242, 277, 288, 318 and 350 of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act">Code of Penal Procedure</XRefExternal> of Quebec do not apply in respect of the prosecution of a contravention.</Text></Section><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:lastAmendedDate="2024-05-31" lims:fid="981756" lims:id="981756"><Label>3</Label><Subsection lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981757" lims:id="981757"><Label>(1)</Label><Text>Subject to subsection (2), the fine payable for a contravention shall not exceed the amount established by the Governor in Council in respect of that contravention under paragraph 8(1)(c) of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act" link="C-38.7">Contraventions Act</XRefExternal>.</Text></Subsection><Subsection lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981758" lims:id="981758"><Label>(2)</Label><Text>The fine payable for a contravention may exceed that amount if the prosecution is instituted by way of a general statement of offence with a request for sentence allowing for a greater sentence than the minimum sentence, as referred to in subparagraph 1 of the first paragraph of section 23 of the <XRefExternal reference-type="regulation">Regulation respecting the form of statements of offence</XRefExternal>.</Text></Subsection></Section><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2024-05-31" lims:enacted-date="2024-05-31" lims:lastAmendedDate="2024-05-31" lims:fid="981759" lims:id="1457397"><Label>4</Label><Text>The enactments made applicable by this Part shall be read as if sections 530 to 530.1 of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act" link="C-46">Criminal Code</XRefExternal>, with such modifications as the circumstances require, were contained in those enactments.</Text></Section><Heading lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981760" lims:id="981760" level="1"><Label>PART VIII</Label><TitleText>Province of British Columbia</TitleText></Heading><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:lastAmendedDate="2024-05-31" lims:fid="981761" lims:id="981761"><Label>1</Label><Subsection lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981762" lims:id="981762"><Label>(1)</Label><Text>Subject to subsections (2) to (5), the following enactments apply in respect of contraventions alleged to have been committed, on or after June 7, 2005, in British Columbia or within the territorial jurisdiction of the courts of British Columbia:</Text><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2024-05-31" lims:enacted-date="2024-05-31" lims:fid="981763" lims:id="1457387"><Label>(a)</Label><Text>the <XRefExternal reference-level="provincial" reference-type="act">Offence Act</XRefExternal> of British Columbia, R.S.B.C. 1996, c. 338, any regulation made under that Act — except for any regulation made under paragraph 132(2)(c), (d) or (e) of that Act and for the <XRefExternal reference-level="provincial" reference-type="regulation">Offence Act Forms Regulation</XRefExternal>, B.C. Reg. 422/90 — and any Act of that province referred to in the <XRefExternal reference-level="provincial" reference-type="act">Offence Act</XRefExternal> relating to proceedings in respect of offences created by a law of that province;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2024-05-31" lims:enacted-date="2024-05-31" lims:fid="981764" lims:id="1457391"><Label>(b)</Label><Text>the <XRefExternal reference-level="provincial" reference-type="act">Victims of Crime Act</XRefExternal> of British Columbia, R.S.B.C. 1996, c. 478, any regulation made under that Act and any Act of that province referred to in the <XRefExternal reference-level="provincial" reference-type="act">Victims of Crime Act</XRefExternal> relating to proceedings in respect of offences created by a law of that province; and</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2024-05-31" lims:enacted-date="2024-05-31" lims:fid="1457390" lims:id="1457390"><Label>(c)</Label><Text>the <XRefExternal reference-level="provincial" reference-type="act">Youth Justice Act</XRefExternal> of British Columbia, S.B.C. 2003, c. 85, any regulations made under that Act and any Act of that province referred to in that Act relating to proceedings in respect of offences created by a law of that province.</Text></Paragraph></Subsection><Subsection lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981765" lims:id="981765"><Label>(2)</Label><Text>The enactments referred to in subsection (1) apply with such modifications as the circumstances require and, without limiting the generality of the foregoing, for the purposes of that subsection, in those enactments,</Text><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981766" lims:id="981766"><Label>(a)</Label><Text>a reference to “enforcement officer” shall be read as a reference to “enforcement authority”;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981767" lims:id="981767"><Label>(b)</Label><Text>a reference to “prosecutor” shall be read as a reference to “Attorney General”;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981768" lims:id="981768"><Label>(c)</Label><Text>a reference to “violation ticket” shall be read as a reference to “ticket”;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981769" lims:id="981769"><Label>(d)</Label><Text>a reference to “offence” shall be read as a reference to “contravention”; and</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981770" lims:id="981770"><Label>(e)</Label><Text>a reference to “fine” shall be read as a reference to the fine established by the Governor in Council pursuant to paragraph 8(1)(c) of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act" link="C-38.7">Contraventions Act</XRefExternal>.</Text></Paragraph></Subsection><Subsection lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981771" lims:id="981771"><Label>(3)</Label><Text>Sections 4, 15.3, 63.1, 79, 81, 83 and 87 of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act">Offence Act</XRefExternal> of British Columbia do not apply in respect of the prosecution of a contravention.</Text></Subsection><Subsection lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981772" lims:id="981772"><Label>(4)</Label><Text>A reference to the “Assistant Deputy Attorney General, Criminal Justice Branch” in sections 18 and 18.1 of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act">Offence Act</XRefExternal> of British Columbia shall be read as a reference to the “Chief Federal Prosecutor, Public Prosecution Service of Canada, Regional Office of British Columbia”.</Text></Subsection><Subsection lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981773" lims:id="981773"><Label>(5)</Label><Text>The forms set out in the schedule to the <XRefExternal reference-type="act">Offence Act</XRefExternal> of British Columbia are replaced by the corresponding forms set out in Part XXVIII of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act" link="C-46">Criminal Code</XRefExternal>.</Text></Subsection></Section><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:lastAmendedDate="2024-05-31" lims:fid="981774" lims:id="981774"><Label>2</Label><Subsection lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981775" lims:id="981775"><Label>(1)</Label><Text>In this section, <DefinedTermEn>parking contravention</DefinedTermEn> means a contravention in respect of any unlawful parking, standing or stopping of a vehicle that is created by an enactment.</Text></Subsection><Subsection lims:inforce-start-date="2018-12-17" lims:fid="981776" lims:id="981776"><Label>(2)</Label><Text>Despite subsection 14(5) of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act">Offence Act</XRefExternal> of British Columbia, subsections 4(7) and (8), paragraphs 7(1)(a) to (c), and subsections 7(2) and (3) of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act">Local Government Bylaw Notice Enforcement Act</XRefExternal>, S.B.C. 2003, c. 60, apply with such modifications as the circumstances require to the service of a ticket issued in respect of a parking contravention.</Text></Subsection></Section><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2024-05-31" lims:enacted-date="2024-05-31" lims:lastAmendedDate="2024-05-31" lims:fid="981777" lims:id="1457392"><Label>3</Label><Text>The enactments made applicable by this Part shall be read as if sections 530 to 530.1 of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act" link="C-46">Criminal Code</XRefExternal>, with such modifications as the circumstances require, were contained in those enactments.</Text></Section><Heading lims:inforce-start-date="2020-04-11" lims:enacted-date="2020-04-11" lims:fid="1244318" lims:id="1244318" level="1"><Label>PART IX</Label><TitleText>Province of Saskatchewan</TitleText></Heading><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2020-04-11" lims:enacted-date="2020-04-11" lims:lastAmendedDate="2024-05-31" lims:fid="1244319" lims:id="1244319"><Label>1</Label><Subsection lims:inforce-start-date="2020-04-11" lims:enacted-date="2020-04-11" lims:fid="1244320" lims:id="1244320"><Label>(1)</Label><Text>Subject to subsection (2), the following enactments apply in respect of contraventions alleged to have been committed on or after the day on which this Part comes into force, in Saskatchewan or within the territorial jurisdiction of the courts of Saskatchewan:</Text><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2020-04-11" lims:enacted-date="2020-04-11" lims:fid="1244321" lims:id="1244321"><Label>(a)</Label><Text><XRefExternal reference-type="other">The Summary Offences Procedure Act, 1990</XRefExternal> of Saskatchewan, S.S. 1990-91, c. S-63.1, any regulations made under that Act and any Act of that province referred to in that Act relating to proceedings in respect of offences created by a law of that province; and</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2020-04-11" lims:enacted-date="2020-04-11" lims:fid="1244322" lims:id="1244322"><Label>(b)</Label><Text><XRefExternal reference-type="other">The Victims of Crime Act, 1995</XRefExternal> of Saskatchewan, S.S. 1995, c. V-6.011, any regulations made under that Act and any Act of that province referred to in that Act relating to proceedings in respect of offences created by a law of that province.</Text></Paragraph></Subsection><Subsection lims:inforce-start-date="2020-04-11" lims:enacted-date="2020-04-11" lims:fid="1244323" lims:id="1244323"><Label>(2)</Label><Text>The enactments referred to in subsection (1) apply with any modifications that the circumstances require and, without limiting the generality of the foregoing, for the purposes of that subsection</Text><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2020-04-11" lims:enacted-date="2020-04-11" lims:fid="1244324" lims:id="1244324"><Label>(a)</Label><Text>a reference to “offence notice” or “offence notice ticket” shall be read as a reference to “ticket”;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2020-04-11" lims:enacted-date="2020-04-11" lims:fid="1244325" lims:id="1244325"><Label>(b)</Label><Text>a reference to “peace officer” shall be read as a reference to “enforcement authority” and, in the case of a French version, a reference to “<Language xml:lang="fr">agent de la paix</Language>” shall be read as a reference to “<Language xml:lang="fr">agent de l’autorité</Language>”;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2020-04-11" lims:enacted-date="2020-04-11" lims:fid="1244326" lims:id="1244326"><Label>(c)</Label><Text>a reference to “prosecutor” shall be read as a reference to “Attorney General”; and</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2020-04-11" lims:enacted-date="2020-04-11" lims:fid="1244327" lims:id="1244327"><Label>(d)</Label><Text>a reference to “specified penalty sum” shall be read as a reference to the amount of the fine established by the Governor in Council pursuant to paragraph 8(1)(c) of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act" link="C-38.7">Contraventions Act</XRefExternal>.</Text></Paragraph></Subsection></Section><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2020-04-11" lims:enacted-date="2020-04-11" lims:lastAmendedDate="2024-05-31" lims:fid="1244328" lims:id="1244328"><Label>2</Label><Text>Section 57 of <XRefExternal reference-type="other">The Summary Offences Procedure Act, 1990</XRefExternal> of Saskatchewan does not apply in respect of the prosecution of a contravention.</Text></Section><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2020-04-11" lims:enacted-date="2020-04-11" lims:lastAmendedDate="2024-05-31" lims:fid="1244329" lims:id="1244329"><Label>3</Label><Text>Proceedings in respect of a contravention may be commenced under either Part III or Part IV of <XRefExternal reference-type="other">The Summary Offences Procedure Act, 1990</XRefExternal> of Saskatchewan.</Text></Section><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2024-05-31" lims:enacted-date="2024-05-31" lims:lastAmendedDate="2024-05-31" lims:fid="1244330" lims:id="1457398"><Label>4</Label><Text>The enactments made applicable by this Part shall be read as if sections 530 to 530.1 of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act" link="C-46">Criminal Code</XRefExternal>, with any modifications that the circumstances require, were contained in those enactments.</Text></Section><Heading lims:inforce-start-date="2020-04-11" lims:enacted-date="2020-04-11" lims:fid="1244331" lims:id="1244331" level="1"><Label>PART X</Label><TitleText>Province of Alberta</TitleText></Heading><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2020-04-11" lims:enacted-date="2020-04-11" lims:lastAmendedDate="2024-05-31" lims:fid="1244332" lims:id="1244332"><Label>1</Label><Subsection lims:inforce-start-date="2020-04-11" lims:enacted-date="2020-04-11" lims:fid="1244333" lims:id="1244333"><Label>(1)</Label><Text>Subject to subsection (2), the following provision of an enactment and enactments apply in respect of contraventions alleged to have been committed on or after the day on which this Part comes into force, in Alberta or within the territorial jurisdiction of the courts of Alberta:</Text><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2020-04-11" lims:enacted-date="2020-04-11" lims:fid="1244334" lims:id="1244334"><Label>(a)</Label><Text>section 34 of the <XRefExternal reference-type="other">Corrections Act</XRefExternal> of Alberta, R.S.A. 2000, c. C-29, and any regulations made under that provision;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2020-04-11" lims:enacted-date="2020-04-11" lims:fid="1244335" lims:id="1244335"><Label>(b)</Label><Text>the <XRefExternal reference-type="other">Provincial Offences Procedure Act</XRefExternal> of Alberta, R.S.A. 2000, c. P-34, any regulations made under that Act and any Act of that province referred to in that Act relating to proceedings in respect of offences created by a law of that province;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2020-04-11" lims:enacted-date="2020-04-11" lims:fid="1244336" lims:id="1244336"><Label>(c)</Label><Text>the <XRefExternal reference-type="other">Victims of Crime Act</XRefExternal> of Alberta, R.S.A. 2000, c. V-3, any regulations made under that Act and any Act of that province referred to in that Act relating to proceedings in respect of offences created by a law of that province; and</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2020-04-11" lims:enacted-date="2020-04-11" lims:fid="1244337" lims:id="1244337"><Label>(d)</Label><Text>the <XRefExternal reference-type="other">Youth Justice Act</XRefExternal> of Alberta, R.S.A. 2000, c.
